Study plan Intern Training Program
To qualify for the award of the ITP Certificate, applicants must complete two units of study (6 credit points each) - Applied Pharmacy Practice 1 and Applied Pharmacy Practice 2. The ITP Certificate is required to obtain full registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist practitioner.
Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
To qualify for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, candidates must complete four units of study (6 credit points each, 24 credit points total). Pharmacy interns who successfully complete the two units of study that make up the ITP may complete a further two elective units of study in order to achieve the award of the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice.
Applicants with existing pharmacist practitioner registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia must complete four units of study (6 credit points each, 24 credit points total) in order to achieve the award of the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice.

Examples include retail pharmacy (community practice), hospital pharmacy, research positions within universities or research institutes, or positions in the pharmaceutical industry in drug production, marketing of drug development.
Course accreditationThis course satisfies the pre-registration training requirements to become a registered pharmacist after completion of a course recognised by the Australian Pharmacy Council, such as the Bachelor of Pharmacy or Master of Pharmacy. The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice incorporates an intern training program and includes the requirement to complete 1,824 hours (one year) of supervised practical training. Students must complete a final exam with the Pharmacy Board of Australia to become a registered pharmacist.
