Course programme
Courses undertaken during the first half of the program provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of ionising radiation including its detection and identification, quantification of radiation dose, the effects of radiation on humans, and management of an accident involving radiation.
The second half of the program equips students with knowledge of the guidelines and regulatory bodies involved in radiation control and the management of environmental radiation.
Students will also undertake a two week placement to gain experience in the workplace practice of radiation safety.
The Graduate Certificate in Radiation Management offers a unique student experience encompassing theoretical learning and practical laboratory training, including the opportunity for a placement within a relevant workplace.
