The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management may be undertaken full-time over one year or part-time over two years. The course is designed for technically-skilled graduates with a background in some of the basic aspects of IT management, who are seeking to supplement and extend their practical skills and theoretical knowledge. You will be able to study a selection of postgraduate subjects covering a core set of IT management topics. You also have the opportunity to select from a number of elective topics in order to expand your studies in related areas.The graduate diploma builds on the foundation of the graduate certificate and coursework undertaken from the graduate diploma may be counted towards the requirements for the Master of Information Technology Management.

Units of study information for graduate certificates and diploma degrees (please select 'Information Technology' and then 'Master of Information Technology')

Study plan

Candidates for the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management complete 48 credit points (cp), including INFO5990 Professional Practice in IT and at least 42 cp of Core and Specialist units of study, subject to meeting prior learning requirements and timetabling. Candidates may choose to transfer to the Master of Information Technology Management to pursue further study, subject to meeting progression requirements.

Classes are generally held in the evening between 6pm and 9pm to accommodate professionals who are employed during the day.

Graduates will be prepared to succeed in management in areas that use computing technology to operate and expand business endeavours. The course has been specifically designed for graduates who are currently moving along, or seeking to move along, a career path through managerial roles such as project manager, program manager, general manager of operations, chief information officer or chief technology officer.
