How will I study?
This course will give you the opportunity to develop your theoretical and practical knowledge of different graphic design skills and software programmes. Techniques you will explore include typography, layout and design for print. You will also learn about different illustrative styles and you will utilise mixed media work in your designs. You will carry out contextual studies of contemporary designers and artists to inspire your own work.
How will I be taught?
Lessons are based in one of the design studios with an available A3 colour printer and scanner. You will be introduced to a range of creative materials, techniques and processes through several short projects. Whole class and 1-to-1 tutorials ensure you learn the necessary skills.
How will I be assessed?
This is a 2 year linear A-level where you are examined on the whole syllabus at the end of the second year. You will undertake several projects and will learn to work creatively to fulfil a brief. You will be assessed at the end of year 1 to see if you can progress to year 2.
