Film is one of the most dominant popular art forms of the last 100 years, studying the course as part of the IB will enable students to develop their understanding of its complexities. This is a course for students who have a passion for cinema (be prepared for watching, silent black & white films with subtitles!). No experience of film making or analysis is required; these skills will be developed over the period of the course.

In the past classes have looked at; German Expressionism (The Cabinet of Dr Caligari) the Hollywood studio system (North by Northwest), the French new wave (A Bout de Souffle), Iranian cinema (A Separation) and the films of Wes Anderson (Rushmore & Moonrise Kingdom).
