Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea is becoming a real concern to the international shipping industry and wider international community, driven by increased media coverage of maritime criminality in West Africa in recent months. Oxberry Risk Strategies have been monitoring the evolution of Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. The Gulf of Guinea Anti-Piracy Workshop is delivered by Oxberry Risk Strategies in association with Dryad Maritime Intelligence, the leading international maritime intelligence agency.

The increasing success of pirates in the Gulf of Guinea and in particular the attacks on vessels whilst conducting STS Operations, subsequent theft of product cargo as well as the alarming and increasing level of violence used in these gulf of guinea piracy attacks requires operators to be more able to identify the threats and reduce risk whilst operating within the law.
