What will you study
Units: Ensure your own actions Reduce Risks to Health & Safety * Assist with Salon Reception Duties * Contribute to the Development of Effective Working Relationships * Shampoo and Condition Hair * Prepare for Hairdressing Services and Maintain Work Areas * Assist with Perming and Colouring Services * Contribute to Effective Relationships within the Salon. You will also have two assignments and two written tests.
How will you be assessed
Assessment of this course is on a continuous basis, with each student building a portfolio showing evidence of their understanding. You will also have to complete on-line assessments throughout the year.
What can you do after course
On completion of this course you may wish to progress onto the Level 2 (subject to interview), or gain employment as a salon assistant.
Additional information
There is an opportunity for students to progress onto the Level 2 course. In this case both courses will be completed within two years. Uniform/Kit: Because of the professional nature of this course, it is necessary for you to purchase, before the course starts, your own uniform and kit. Uniform (2 tops), hairdressing kit. Key Skills/Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level.
