Hairdressing

Anyone interested in hairdressing, whether they are a complete beginner or have some experience.

No qualifications required.

This short course is ideal for students who would like a career in hairdressing or to find out more of what hairdressing is all about.

Various different basic hairdressing skills will be taught during the course.

This may include any or some of the following:

Plait and pleat hair and use ornaments in hair designs.
Observe a shampoo consultation and practice shampooing hair.
Blow drying hair.
Observe hair cutting.
Applying temporary hair colouring.
Health and safety considerations when working in a hairdressing salon.

The above content may be amended/added/changed to meet the needs and the abilities of the students enrolled. Please note this is a leisure course, therefore there are no exams.

Please ensure you wear flat, closed toe shoes and wear black or dark trousers and a close fitting black or dark shirt/top.

Please also bring a notepad, pen and folder to keep handouts safe.

No formal assessment.

Advice and guidance will be given during the course on further learning and progression opportunities.
