•Level 3 candidates must have achieved NVQ/VRQ Level 2 Hairdressing or have a minimum of five years’ apprenticeship or stylist experience. • You will be required to have an interview and trade test with a member of the hairdressing team. Course Content • Monitor procedures to safely control work operations • Promote additional services or products to clients • Provide hairdressing consultation services • Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques • Colour hair using a variety of techniques • Provide colour correction services • Creatively style and dress hair • Creatively dress long hair • Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills • Support client service improvements. How will I be assessed? You will cover the theoretical and practical work necessary for each unit. This will be assessed through online testing with the awarding body and practical assessment. Assessment is continuous throughout the year and will take place within a realistic working environment. Progression Those who study at Level 3 may progress to higher education or seek employment as a salon stylist or industrial consultant. Fees • If you are aged 16–18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment – no course fee. • If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases.
