Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at anyone who wishes to be involved in hairdressing, it offers an introduction to the hairdressing industry.

What is the course about?
This course gives a basic introduction to working in a hairdressing salon.

Reception Work
Health & Safety
Team Work
Shampoo, Condition and Dry Hair
Contribute to Perming and Colouring Processes
Personal and Professional Development

Will I need anything else?
A professional dress code is required. You will require a black overall and sensible full shoes. You will have to purchase a hairdressing kit. A camera needs to be available for photographic evidence and a file for your portfolio. You will be required to provide models for assessment.

How long & often do I attend?
An 90% attendance is required for this course to complete. (You may be required to attend on the day of the External Verifiers visit).

How will I be assessed?
Formal end of unit examinations that are set by the awarding body. Continual assessments are carried out throughout the course. You will be required to complete projects throughout the course.

What opportunities will this lead to?
On completion of Level 1 you may apply for NVQ Hairdressing Level 2, or you may wish to gain employment in a salon.
