I am a qualified, professional potter who has exhibited widely within the UK; I have been teaching Pottery since 1989. I joined Lewisham Arthouse in 1991, and the development of my work has increased over the years, as I continue to teach in and outside of my studio space with many of my students returning on a regular basis. My qualifications include: * BA (HONS) Art and Design, Grays School of Art, Aberdeen, 1984 * C&G Teachers' Certificate in Further and Adult Education, 1995 * Canterbury Christchurch Certificate in Education, 2000

Course programme

Weekend and Summer Course Fees include:

  • Demonstrations and Individual Tuition
  • Talks and Discussions on Technical Matters
  • Some Materials and Bisque Firing Costs
  • Refreshments and a Light Lunch

Bisque fired work can be collected at a later date or posted at an additional expense. Alternatively students are welcome to return and glaze their pots during any one of the courses listed or at a time suitable. The glazing session should last for no more than half a day.

The hand building workshops are held first Friday every 3rd month. The Workshops will cover:

  • Hand Building Methods
  • Surface Decoration
  • Colour application

Untutored practice will be held between 3.00 - 5.00pm.

These workshops are held Friday to Sunday between 10.00am-5.00pm.

Payment options: Making Parties available @ £10.00 per person per hour inclusive of materials and firings Weekend Hand building Workshops cost £180.00 or alternatively £65.00 per day Extra pots will be charged @ £1.75 per lb. To optionally finish the pots, glazing and glaze firing will cost £1.75 per lb.
