Health & safety in the workplace
Available online and on CD-Rom, the Esky health and safety training course is an in depth and accessible guide to the responsibilities of employers and employees at work. This course is for everyone in the workplace.
The course is broken down into an introduction, eight modules and an assessment. The course covers all the basic principles that everyone in the workplace needs to know: slips trips and falls, manual handling, risk assessment, spotting hazards, preventing accidents.
On passing the assessment, a Health and Safety certificate can be printed out. Course notes are also available upon completion.
The Health & Safety Executive advise that there is a legal obligation to provide information and training on health & safety to all employees who need it, including full time staff, new starters and part time employees. Temporary or agency staff, contractors and other visitors should also be given the information they need to conduct their activities in a safe and healthy way. Apart from these legal responsibilities the time and effort spent on training can have benefits such as saving your business time and money and improving staff morale.

Module 2 - Health and Safety Advantages:
Costs and benefits, a healthy safe workplace.
Module 3 - Health and Safety in Practice:
Workplace risk assessment, types of accidents, accident reporting and first aid.
Module 4 - Hazards, Accidents and Accident Prevention:
Most common hazards, types of accidents, prevention of accidents, controlling hazards, reducing risk.
Module 5 - H&S: Kitchen Module
6 - H&S: Office/Reception Module
7 - H&S: Housekeeping Module
8 - H&S: Maintenance
Please note: in the CD-Rom version Module 4 forms part of Module 3. The course content is not affected.
