The Programme
It explores topics related to health, social care, and childcare and helps you to understand some of the key issues which relate to working in these areas.
The Programme Content
The programme covers a range of topics related to working with vulnerable adults and children such as:
Communication with children and vulnerable people.
Legislation and Codes of practice and how they affect how care is delivered.
How people become the individual they are (includes human development/psychology/sociology).
Health & Safety and how this is managed in the workplace, including assessing risk.
How equality and diversity impact on all aspects of our personal and professional lives.
It requires that you are able to link some theories to practical settings
Progression / Careers
The progression route for this programme would be to A2 Health & Social Care or to other A Level programmes which would support or develop skills and understanding in preparation for your chosen career pathway.
