This three A Level equivalent study programme is designed to meet the changing circumstances within the health and social care sectors. About this course


Normally a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A* – C) including English Language, Maths and 3 other science or humanities GCSEs (2 of the 5 being at grade B or above), or a relevant level 2 qualification with a Distinction plus English and Maths GCSE at grade C or above. Completion of a successful interview, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced check* and excellent references are also required.
*Please note: There is a charge of £44 for a DBS check.

Course Content
The Health and Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma programme contains a mix of modules that incorporate a range of topics giving students broad learning of the area. Topics include:

• Equality, Diversity and Rights

• Developing Effective Communication

• Development Through Life Stages

• Psychological and Sociological Perspectives

• Anatomy and Physiology

• Health, Safety and Security



Entry Requirements

Our term starts the week commencing 5th September 2016,
however you may have different start dates depending on the course.
You will receive the details of your first day over the summer period,
