Is this course for me?
This course gives you a general understanding of the health and
social care sector. It is suitable for individuals interested in
working in health and social care, or who are already working in
the sector and wish to develop their knowledge and skills.
What will I study?
This course offers a broad introduction to the health and social
care sector and gives students the opportunity to develop personal
and basic skills including communications, application of number
and Information Technology. ESOL support is also available if
required

What can I do next?
This can lead to an Access to Nursing, Access to Social Work,
BTEC National Diploma or an NVQ Level 2 or 3. It can also lead to
employment opportunities as a health care assistant or support
worker.

What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have completed a BTEC Introductory Diploma or
equivalent with a pass at merit or above, complete an assessment
test and attend an interview.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment takes the form of assignments. Students also meet
regularly with their course tutor to discuss progress.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
