Health & Social Care BTEC Introductory Diploma Level 1

About the course:
This level 1 course is a practical, work related course for students wanting a career in Health or Care services. Students will need to continue and obtain a level 2 qualification before working in the Care Sector as this is a National Minimum Standard.

Course Content:
You will be required to study all three core units: Starting Work in Health & Social Care, Working in Health & Social Care and Developing Skills in Health & Social Care. In addition you must also complete two personal skills units: Personal Effectiveness, Social Responsibility at Work, Financial Management. You must also complete three optional units: Looking after Children, Images of People, Health & the Environment and Mapping Local Services.

Equipment Requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this course.

Assessment:
There are no exams for this course. Coursework is set and assessed throughout the year.

Progression:
On successful completion of this course, you can progress to Level 2 as a full time student or as an apprentice.

Additional Information:
Attendance - One year, Full time If you are under 19 at the start of the course, and studying a full time course, there are no tuition / exam fees. If you are over 19, you are liable for tuition / exam fees.
