About the course:
This course is designed for unqualified registered managers needing to meet the requirements of the National Minimum Care Standards or senior carers wanting to develop their qualifications.

Course Content:
The course covers a range of topics such as; developing and using communication systems, developing and monitoring a healthy and safe work practice, professional development of self and others, and the promotion of health and protection of individuals.

Equipment Requirements:
You will be required to supply adequate paper, pens, and folders to enable participation in all theory classes; any textbooks will be discussed in the class or at interview.

Assessment:
As with all NVQs, assessment will consist of a combination of written work, work-based observation and professional interview. For new registered managers, it is advised that they undertake the NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social care, before the Registered Managers Award.

Progression:
For those who want to become a registered manager, progression can be to go on to the Registered Managers Award.
