Health and Social Care - Level 1

You will need to have a minimum of two GCSEs Grade D-G or an Entry 3 qualification. All applicants will need to have a successful interview.

You will study a range of topics including:

• Creative Activities for Children
• Job Opportunities in Health and Social Care
• Communication with adults and children
• Personal Care in Health and Social Care
• Promoting Healthy Eating in Care
• You will also be enhancing your skills in English and Maths
• 3 weeks work experience

This course also provides the opportunity to develop those skills required for future employment such as working as part of a team, problems solving and effective communication skills.

You will learn by completing projects and assignments. You will also be developing the skills you need to start a career or progress on to a Level 2 Health and Social Care or Childcare course.

On successful completion of the Level 1 programme, and having demonstrated a sound commitment to attending College and developing a good work ethic the most common progression route is for students to move onto one of the Level 2 courses in Health and Social Care or Childcare.
