What will you be learning?
This course is for people working in the care sector and consists of 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units to suit the client group you work with including children and young people, adults, promoting independence, mental health, DANOS. The choice of units is very specific to the clients needs and you will be advised on these either by your employer or your tutor. You will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence and performance in the workplace.

What happens when you have finished?
After successful achievement, you can progress onto further studies or enter full-time employment.

You may not have to pay this tuition fee if:

• You are unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (contribution-based)
• You are in receipt of, or are an un-waged dependent of someone currently in receipt of any of the following "income-based" benefits:
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employments and Support ALlowance (ESA)
  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit (your assessed household income needs to be less than 15,276 per year (amount subject to change)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit (excluding the 25% single person reduction)
  • Pension Credit - Guaranteed only
• You are studying for your
  
  first full Level 2 qualification, whatever your age.
• You are aged 19-24 on the 31st of August prior to the start of your course and studying for your
  
  first full Level 3 qualification, whatever your age.
