You’ll also have opportunities to network with other managers across the health and social care arena, building relationships to benefit your career.

Depending on personal and professional interests, you can study the course to different levels achieving a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma rather than completing the full MBA. There are no optional modules to the MBA, they’re all compulsory to make sure we remain focused on the core aims of the course.

About this course

Our MBA will prepare you for operational and senior managerial positions in health and social care, either in the UK or internationally.

A first degree, with honours, at a minimum final classification of Lower Second (2:2) or equivalent.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

Our MBA is supported by experienced practitioners from the field of health management, including local managers and leaders from a range of public and private health institutions.

This is a specialist designated module for the Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care course. Current health and social care policy and the modernisation of the NHS, and other international models demands new ways of working across traditional boundaries, and the implementation of national targets at local level.
  • Enabling Leadership in Health CareHealth and Social Care is continuingly striving to improve itself and attain excellence against a backcloth of relentless change. The ability to accept and thrive during rapid and turbulent change as an inevitable consequence of life is a pre-requisite for organisational survival.
  • Finance, Accounting and Marketing in Health CareFinance, accounting and marketing are business skills which are becoming increasingly important throughout health care and a fundamental requirement of any senior manager, leader or decision makers within the sector.
  • Research StudiesDesigned to provide you with a critical overview of the main methodologies and designs applied to research within health and social care, professional practice, regulation and policy. It provides you with an opportunity to explore the theoretical dilemmas that underlie the process of inquiry and its relationship to practice.

You will be expected to bring together aspects of learning from previous modules, as well as using the learning as the basis for planning, conducting and writing a research or work-based project.

    Assessment

Your work is assessed through a variety of methods including seminar, group and individual presentations, virtual learning discussion boards with assessed components, mixed methods such as case review presentations with written commentary, and a final research application activity to conclude the course.

Please note that you will need to complete all of the above core modules. This course does not have any optional modules. Modules are subject to change and availability.

15 months full-time (January starts), 2 years part-time Teaching times: 9am-4pm Tuesdays, 1-4pm Wednesdays. Part-time teaching times: Trimester 2: Fridays 9am-5pm; Trimester 3: Tuesdays 9am-5pm
