The NHS workforce review team summary and analysis of the Pharmacy Technicians workforce in 2009, indicates that the demand for dispensing assistants, pharmacy assistants and pharmacy technicians is likely to increase in light of the increase in pharmacist staffing establishments, furthermore vacancy rates have been increasing over a number of years and it is likely that this reflects a shortage rather than high turnover rate.
