The Health and Social Care aspect of the course provides a multidisciplinary, social science based route to qualification in the health and social care fields. An alternative to clinical training, the emphasis is on the social experiences of health and care, including the policy issues, the delivery and management of services, and the evaluation of evidence. Some modules offered as part of the course, as well as certain subjects in joint honours combinations, are also available through the medium of Welsh.

The course aims to enable understudies to: Show a critical understanding of the range of research methods.
Show a critical appreciation of the practical issues involved in the design, planning, conduct, and end product(s) of research methods.
Demonstrate an understanding of the issues around the management, analysis and presentation of data
Develop confidence and style in presenting material via the oral medium
Through studying this subject you will gain a good background for careers in areas such as health service management, research, social housing and social and community work.
