All BTEC Units are assessed on a portfolio of work based on the content of each unit over 1 year.

What can this course offer me?
The BTEC First Diploma in Health & Social Care is a practical, work-related course, which will give you a broad understanding of health and welfare issues. It prepares you for work in the Care sector or for study at a more advanced level by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
The course is made up of six units - two core units and four specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study a particular area in more depth.

What will I learn?
You will be able to explore the different methods of communication that are relevant to the specific needs of individuals/group of individuals, sectors and settings.

Develop an understanding of how services address the needs and preferences of individuals, families, carers, groups and communities.

To learn about the different Health and Social Care Sectors and how they provide services for clients.

To develop an understanding of different cultures and beliefs.

Develop the skills to investigate and reseaarch information for your coursework.
