Description:
A work based qualification assessing the skills and knowledge people need to demonstrate as carers in a variety of settings such as GP Practice Assistant and other health care assistants, residential and nursing homes, hospitals, supported living accommodation etc. NVQ Level 2 and 3 both require you to build a portfolio of evidence. Work may be paid or voluntary.

Progression:
NVQ level 3 or 4; employment as care assistants or health support workers within the private care sector, social services or the health service.

Entry Requirements:
You must be working in a care setting, paid or unpaid. No prior qualifications are required, selection will also include an interview, basic skills screening, written work and character references.
