About this course
You will generally need four relevant GCSE's at grade C or above or an appropriate NVQ Level2. BTEC First Diploma or Intermediate GNVQ with a satisfactory grade. Mature learners are welcome to apply without formal qualifications but will have to complete a satisfactory interview and demonstrate a strong commitment to succeed.

What will I study? The BTEC National Award in Health and Social Care is a six unit qualification. It is compromised of three common core units which are mandatory and three speacilaist units. CORE UNITS Developing Effective Communication Skills in Health and Social Care. Equality Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care ,Health Safety and Security in Health & Social Care. SPECIALIST UNITS. Nutrition for Health &SocialCare ,Sociological & Psyschological Perspectives for Health & Social Care,Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology for Health &Social Care.
What else will I do? It may be possible to do Emergency First Aid,Food Safety and Health & Safety certificate
How will I be assessed? There will be a combination of examinations and coursework. The units are assessed by completing assignments.
What will I achieve? BTEC National Award in Health and Social Care which is equivalent to 1 'A' Level.
What can I do afterwards? On the successful completion of this qualification, learners may progress into employment, continue their study in Health & Social Care or progress to university.
