This course covers the basic pinciples of healthy cooking and the role of nutrition in health.

This course will encourage confidence in cooking and develop an interest in healthy eating and home cooking for the benefit of the whole family as well as the individual.

You will gain confidence in your cooking and gain practical skills such as budgeting, food hygiene, ingredient preparation, different cooking methods, how to adapt recipes, weighing and measuring and shopping for healthy food on a budget.

Additionality

For your first lesson please bring the following:

Dish cloth, 2 x tea towel, apron, vegetable knife, big sharp knife (for meat), 3 x medium plastic containers, pen and A4 folder for handouts.

For the first lesson students will be sent a list of ingredients prior to the class starting. The tutor will give demonstrations and a week by week ingredients list will be given each week. You can expect to spend appromimately £5-10 per week on ingredients.

Payment options: UK/EU Fee : £105.00 Overseas Fee : £165.00 Part-time enrolments are subject to an additional annual registration fee of £10 payable once only per academic year (exemptions may apply).
