Course programme

The Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management is a Level 4 Apprenticeship that is specifically designed to meet the needs of those who have gained Level 3 construction qualifications (including an Advanced Apprenticeship) or those with appropriate prior experience of work in the sector and are seeking to develop their career and work in a construction management role in the building and civil engineering, residential development or conservation sectors. The following pathways are offered: -construction and building services management and supervision (sustainability) -construction site supervision. The qualifications within each pathway include a combination of core units and a wide range of unit options to select from. Depending upon the pathway followed, you will achieve either a Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction and Building Services Management and Supervision (Sustainability) or a Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision (Construction). In addition, each pathway also includes a Level 4 HNC Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.You will learn through a combination of on- and off-the-job training. You will attend college on a day release basis during term time and spend the rest of your time earning and learning in the workplace. You will be assessed on a continuous basis through a combination of knowledge and practical assessment activities, including assessment of activities in the workplace. The Apprenticeship has a minimum duration of 24 months unless you are aged 19 or older and have undertaken relevant prior learning. Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by an Apprenticeship Achievement Officer.
