Course programme

This qualification is equivalent to the second year of a university degree in the UK.

The Higher Apprenticeship enables apprentices to develop knowledge and skills in human resource management, while being employed and earning a salary.

As paid employees, apprentices gain the knowledge and skills required to function effectively and professionally in an human resources role, while the business benefits positively from developing competency in-house.

Apprentices will also develop personal learning and thinking skills such as;

  • Effective Participation.

To complete the higher apprenticeship, learners are required to successfully complete the following core units:

  • Understanding Resourcing and Talent Planning
  • Understanding Reward Management
  • Understanding the link between Individual and Organisational Performance
  • Understanding Employee Engagement
  • Understanding the Management of Employment Relations
  • Understanding Human Resource Development
  • Understanding the Management of Change

Learners are required to select 5 of the following optional units;

  • Contributing to Resourcing and Talent Planning
  • Contributing to Reward Management
  • Contributing to Improving Organisational Performance
  • Contributing to Employee Engagement
  • Contributing to the Management of Employee Relations
  • Contributing to Human Resource Development
