Design Activity
Art and Design Studies
Art and Design Higher, provides opportunities for candidates to express themselves, solve visual and functional problems and work directly with materials and equipment in satisfying and enjoyable ways. It offers candidates the opportunity to make choices and negotiate the content and context of their work.
The Course offers insights into cultural heritage, in particular an appreciation of the visual arts and design, and stimulates awareness of the significance of visual imagery as a major means of communication. In addition, it assists candidates to arrive at informed personal opinions about the world in which they live.

. Entry to Intermediate 2 requires Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade 3. . Entry to Higher requires Intermediate 2 (Grade A or B) or Standard Grade (1 or 2) or equivalent. . Guidance staff will be happy to discuss and take into account other learning or experience. . If you intend to resit a subject for which you already hold unit passes, please indicate this on your application form. In some subject areas we may offer exam only classes. . If English is not your first language you will be required to demonstrate English language skills equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
