Fee Waiver: If you are studying part-time and are in receipt of a means tested benefit or low income your fees will be waived. Proof of benefit is required and should be brought at time of enrolment. ILA Scotland funding is available for Higher subjects. You must have your ILA Scotland account in place prior to the start date of any eligible course. The World of Carbon
Chemical Reactions
The study of chemistry at Higher extends the candidates' knowledge and understanding of the physical and natural environments and the development of the problem solving and practical skills associated with scientific enquiry beyond Intermediate 2.
A grounding for the future study of chemistry and chemistry-related subjects in higher education is provided for candidates who wish to pursue a career in a science-based area.

. Entry to Intermediate 2 requires Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade 3. . Entry to Higher requires Intermediate 2 (Grade A or B) or Standard Grade (1 or 2) or equivalent. . Guidance staff will be happy to discuss and take into account other learning or experience. . If you intend to resit a subject for which you already hold unit passes, please indicate this on your application form. In some subject areas we may offer exam only classes. . If English is not your first language you will be required to demonstrate English language skills equivalent to IELTS 5.5.
