About this course

You will need four GCSE passes at grade D or above includingmaths and English or complete an initial assessment. All applicantswill be requested to attend an interview and provide tworeferences. We will also require you to have a Criminal RecordsBureau check.

What will I study?

This course is equivalent to seven GCSEs A* - C, will give you a
broad understanding of the care and development of individuals and
the contribution of the following workforce sectors: children and
young people, community justice, health and social care. The
Diploma is made up of four components, some of which are
qualifications in their own right. Along with course work you will
have to carry out a research project and do a two week work
placement. To complete your Diploma, you will take at least one
additional specialist work-based qualification or a new general
qualification to broaden your learning.

What can I do next?

This can lead to the Advanced Diploma and a range of other
related Level 3 qualifications including health and social care,
childcare and education, youth and community work, social work,
nursing, youth justice and probation, or a range of careers in one
of these sectors.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need four GCSE passes at grade D or above including
maths and English or complete an initial assessment. All applicants
will be requested to attend an interview and provide two
references. We will also require you to have a Criminal Records
Bureau check.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
