Higher National Diploma in Computing

Introduction

Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) have long been the qualification of choice for students wishing to study at a Higher Education Level. Edexcel’s BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing is developed with and for industry, therefore meeting the needs of employers. The Higher National Diploma in Computing is consists of 16 to be completed within 4 semesters.

Entry Requirements

You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
• A relevant BTEC Higher National Certificate
• Two GCE A Levels in a relevant subject or a recognised equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years related work experience
and English Competency
• IELTS 5.0 or a recognised equivalent

Assessment/ Examination

Assessments for this programme are varied depending on the requirements of the modules. These can take the form of written assignments, management
reports, presentations and examinations.

January, May and September

Level of Qualification
This is an undergraduate level 5 qualification and is equivalent to 2 Years of a UK Bachelor degree according to the UK National Qualifications Framework.

Progression

This qualification allows students to progress to university in many countries. In the UK particularly, students graduating from the Higher National Diploma programmes are able to progress to the final year of bachelor degree programmes at leading Universities.

Edexcel – On successful completion of the course, the final certificate will be awarded by Edexcel.
