What is the course about?
History A Level helps you to understand the value and significance of world events in the past. The course includes both British and International history.

AS Level - Year 1
In the first year you will look at significant periods of change, and how societies have responded to change.

Unit 1: Change and Consolidation
Britain 1906 - 1951

Covers British political, social and economic history in the period between the 1906 Liberal landslide general election victory and the defeat of the Labour Party in the 1951 election.

Unit 2: Historical Issues; Periods of Change
The USA & Vietnam 1961 - 1975

This covers American involvement in Vietnam from the election of John F Kennedy in 1961 to the fall of South Vietnam in 1975.

A2 Level - Year 2
In the second year you will explore the relationship between individual and the state over a fifty year period, and life changing events over a hundred year period.
