Course programme

Over the course of this two year A level, you will focus on three separate periods of history, looking at Britain primarily but also the USA.

You will cover the following units:
  • The Making of Modern Britain: Britain 1951 - 2007
  • The Making of a Superpower: USA 1865 - 1975
  • The Industrial Revolution in Britain

A level History explores the value and significance of world events in the past, providing a deeper understanding of social, cultural, religious and ethnic diversity.
You'll investigate the industrial revolution in Britain, research what shaped the USA into a super state from 1865 to 1975 and explore the making of modern Britain.
