History (Early Modern)
The course is split into two areas. The first of these is a period study of British history (1483-1603) focusing on: the relationship between Crown and nobility from the end of the Wars of the Roses to the death of Henry VIII; Tudor rebellions from 1529-1569; Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots and the Catholic threat to Elizabeth I and finally, Tudor foreign policy c. 1483-1603. The second area of the course is an indepth study of European history, the focus of which is the German Reformation, c. 1500-1555.
