Year 1:

  • Medieval Art
  • Early Modern Art
  • Modern and Postmodern Art
  • Study of Art History
  • Two optional units on a range of aspects of art

Year 2:

  • Year abroad:

- the British Institute of Florence (classes conducted in English)
- the University of Richmond in Virginia

Year 3:

  • Histories and Theories of Art
  • Organisation of a virtual exhibition
  • Four units on themes or movements in art or architectural history (typical areas might include Constructivism, The English Gothic Church, The Renaissance Portrait)

Year 4:

  • Dissertation (12,000 words)
  • Research Issues in Art History
  • Two optional seminar units (typically specialised studies of an artist or topic in depth)
