Course programme
Everything you ever wanted to know about garden history in a day! We explore gardening trends down the centuries, from the formality of Italian Renaissance models to the quirks of Victorian England through to more relaxed contemporary trends. The work of contemporary designers such as Piet Oudolf, Dan Pearson and Erik Dhont is discussed.
Andrew Mikolajski has a busy career as a gardening author, lecturer and speaker. He has written over 30 titles, many published in French, Spanish and German.
Besides teaching garden design at Warwickshire College, he runs an annual series of courses at Lamport Hall (), and bespoke one-off courses at the hall for interested groups – depending on the size of the group, these can be a half-day or summer evening visit to include talk, garden tour, question and answer session with light refreshments or a bespoke full-day course with lunch. He welcomes overseas visitors, both French and German speakers. He also lectures and give demonstrations to gardening clubs and other groups.
Andrew offers design advice, create planting plans and gives mentoring to designers who are just entering the profession.
