This Unit will enable candidates to develop knowledge and understanding of the methods of spread of HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and ways of preventing this spread. Candidates will gain knowledge of the signs, symptoms and the possible progression of each infection. Candidates will also examine the effects of prejudice and discrimination on infected individuals and how this may be challenged. Finally, candidates will investigate how infected individuals can use support services to promote their own well-being.
