One Higher (which must be Technical or Science based), NC Aeronautical Engineering or an NC in a technical or engineering discipline. Candidates may be accepted without the formal entry requirements and selection will be based on an informal interview.

Course Aims:
This programme will equip you with skills and understanding for a career in the technical aviation industries. The course has been designed to match a number of the Civil Aviation Authority¿s (CAA) EASA 66 licensing requirements, meaning that you will have a massive head start in obtaining your CAA Avionics or Mechanics licenses. You will also be involved in the production of a real single-seater sports aircraft (Hummel Bird).

Course Content:
Introduction to Propulsion (Piston & Jet Engines). Aircraft Structures & Materials. Electrical Principles for Aviation. Maths & Physics for Aviation. Aircraft Pneumatics & Hydraulics. Communications. Hummel Bird - Project.

Possible progression routes are: HND Aircraft Engineering; EASA Part 66 Licensing; employment.
