Course Aims:
The HNC leads to a variety of courses including HND Biomedical Sciences, HND Applied Biological Sciences, HND Applied Biotechnology and HND Environmental Science. It introduces the theory and practical skills to work in a number of technical fields in bio-related industries. Candidates who complete the HNC may progress to a relevant degree at various universities.

This course acts both as a vocational qualification and as an entry, route to several HND Science programmes and Science degrees., We have a strong relationship with The University of the West of, Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University whereby progression to, Year 2 of relevant BSc degree programmes is possible.

Career Potential:
Upon completion, you will possess the skills for technical jobs in, research and medical laboratory sciences, in addition to posts as, operatives or technicians in scientific companies. The HNC also, provides transferable skills suited to a wide range of occupations,, including scientific sales and writing.

Course Assessment:
There are no formal exams. Students are assessed throughout using end, of unit tests ranging from essays to experiments and closed book tests.
