HNC CONSTRUCTION Entry Requirements
An interview is required.

BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Building studies or GNVQ in Construction.

Registration Requirements:
BTEC registrations for HNC.
Description
A part-time day release course 2 years duration.
Course Content
You will be given instruction, guidance and encouragement to practice and develop your skills in the following:
Core units
Unit 1 - Design principles and application
Unit 2 - Science and materials
Unit 3 - Analytical methods
Unit 4 - Management principles and application
Unit 5 - Group project
Unit 6 - Health, safety and welfare

Specialist units
Unit 7 - Technology A
Unit 8 - Technology B
Unit 9 - Law and contract
Unit 19 - Measurement A
Unit 20 - Building control and inspection

Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
By assignment, phase tests and end examinations.
Progression
This programme prepares and qualifies students for higher technician positions in industry and provides opportunities to progress to higher degree and professional courses.
