This is a well established two year, part-time course that provides a thorough grounding in all aspects of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and combines the hardware and software subject areas demanded by the industry; additionally it provides the student with a sound basis for continuing education.

About this course

HNC applicants should have successfully completed a National Certificate/Diploma in an Engineering subject, an AVCE or two A Levels in a relevant subject or equivalent. Mature students with relevant industrial experience may be considered without formal qualifications.

Successful completion of the HNC will qualify students for entry to HND/degree courses in related subjects. Careers that are directly related to this discipline include: Electrical and Electronic Development Engineering; Design Engineering; Production Engineer (Technical Sales) and CAD Technicians. Electrical and Electronic Engineers are employed by the manufacturing industry; service industries; the armed forces; research organisations and the National Health Service

Assessment is by a combination of continuous assessment and end of module examinations.
