Certificate or Diploma, Access to Higher Education Certificates in a related subject or successful completion of a one year Foundation Course in Art & Design.
Mature learners without any formal qualifications will be considered with relevant experience subject to interview and portfolio.

Level 5 Wisemore Campus Two years part time or one year full time.

The direct aim of the course is to enable you to develop your conceptual, creative and practical skills and to encourage flexibility, knowledge, skills and motivation as a basis for future studies and career development. The programme offers you the opportunity to develop your working practice in a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional media.

The course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your own personal vision and ideas and explore areas of specific interest. It will also encourage you to develop the depth and breadth of your creative skills.
Critical studies are integrated throughout.
Programme delivery reflects contemporary fine art practice and is challenging, demanding and rewarding. Studying at Higher Education level in Fine Art means that you will have your own personal study space and access to HE specific studios.
There is an extensive visiting artist programme allowing students to attend seminars and master classes as well as 1:1 tutorials with national and international artists. Walsall
College is proud to boast of many links with industry and in particular a dynamic partnership with the New Art Gallery Walsall where we hold our final show each year.
The visual arts sector is diverse and highly rewarding and opportunities for fine artists exist in areas as diverse as painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics,
digital technologies and in extensive business opportunities relating to the arts.
Homework or private study is required.
