KEY FEATURES
This course is designed for hairdressers seeking an advanced certificate which will develop their creative hairdressing skills, technical knowledge and give them the opportunity to design and create hairstyles. The course also includes building a portfolio which will involve the learner using computer aided design skills as well as their selling skills.

COURSE CONTENT

A selection of core units includes:
Creative Design in Hair Cutting; Colouring, Incorporating Colour Correction and Innovative Design; Communication.

A selection of optional units includes:
Long Hair Design; Managing a Small Business; Alter the Shape of Hair by Temporary and Permanent Techniques.

Course Skills Enhancement:
There will be an opportunity for prospective learners to enhance skills required in the course by attending a 3 day programme prior to the start of the course. The programme will include: Introduction to Photoshop; Computing and Business Communications.

PROGRESSION
On successful completion of the course, learners could fill the challenging role of operating a small business, apply for employment on-board cruise liner, apply for lecturing posts in Further Education or as a Company Technician/Trainer. Learners may also apply for entry on to HND Make-Up Artistry.
