About this course
One Higher Grade pass normally English (alternatively, Modern Studies, History or Economics may be accepted) and two other passes at Standard Grade (or equivalent) at band 3 or above; or completion of a National Qualification including Communication 4 and appropriate subject modules.

KEY FEATURES
This course aims to provide a broad based qualification on which to build a professional career in the diverse and dynamic legal services sector. It provides the knowledge, vocational skills and professional attributes appropriate to employment within the legal sector. Like the HND, emphasis is on assessment by case study and practical exercise. Candidates will also have the opportunity to undertake a Professional Legal Skills Unit which will focus on client interviewing techniques and will also have the offer of non compulsory evening classes covering such subjects as Criminology; Forensic Medicine and Science and Medical Law.
COURSE CONTENT
A selection of core units includes:
Commercial Law; Scottish Legal System; Scots Private Law; Property Law; Legal Research Techniques; and Communication.

PROGRESSION
Learners can progress to HND Legal Services on successful completion of all core units and a Graded Unit (A, B or C pass). Alternatively, you can pursue a career within solicitors? firms, the Scottish Legal Aid Board, Police Service, Scottish Courts Service, and legal departments in local authorities and organisations in the financial sector.
