Covering all aspects of cell biology, industrial microbiology and laboratory techniques, analysing data, biochemistry and physiology, you’ll feel confident to work in this skilled discipline. The course includes work based experience, personal and professional development and projects in applied science.
Entry Requirements
BTEC Level 3 qualification in Applied Science. A-Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or an adequate performance in more than one subject. Other related level 3 qualifications or Access to Higher Education Certificate received from an approved further education institution. The above should be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (including English, maths and science). We can also accept related work experience for mature students.
Course Duration
The course runs over two years on a full-time basis.

Progression
This qualification can be used to gain employment in a wide variety of industries that use Biology including: Water Board Food Industry Health industry Educational Establishments Analytical Laboratories Pharmaceutical Laboratories The qualification can be used as an entry requirement for a variety of University degrees.
Course Fees
The course fees for 2016 are £6000. We will endeavour to set fees competitively in the local marketplace, with the aim of providing a university quality course within a College environment, at a lower cost than the Universities. Fees may increase should there be a significant change to the underlying cost of providing the course, such as in periods of high inflation, or fundamental changes to course structure due to regulatory or legal obligations. In all cases the College will seek to set the maximum of any annual fee rise to the greater of the Retail Price Index or 5%.
