HND Mechanical Engineering (Top-up) Overview

This course will expand upon your knowledge of engineering thermodynamics, the essential skills behind researching and developing concepts, and important business principles that a manufacturing company requires in the engineering industry. Plus giving you some of the principles used to model and design practical control systems.
This course is validated by Edexcel.

Entry requirements

All applicants will be invited to an interview to discuss qualifications, experience and other related issues.

In order to start this course, you will be expected to have successfully completed, or have evidence of working towards an HNC in Mechanical Engineering with the correct credit mix to allow us to claim your HND.

We also typically require GCSE English and maths at grade C or above: literacy and numeracy at Level 2 are essential requirements.

Please note that maths at Level 2 is required for progression onto full degree courses, should you choose to continue your education beyond a HND course.

Start dates and fees

Course fees are payable for each year of all university level courses. To identify your course fees and the financial support available to you, please see the HE section of the website or contact a member of the HE team at the college.

Provisional timetables will be discussed at interview, and confirmed in the final joining instructions which all students will receive in July.

The table below shows you when the course starts. You may be charged a fee for your course depending on your age and circumstances.
