Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at anybody who wishes to be introduced to an exciting and challenging career in the world of alternative therapies.

What is the course about?
During the course you will have the opportunity to acquire skills across a broad range of practical areas:

Supporting Health & Safety In The Salon
Customer Care
Holistic Therapies And The Use Of Products
Reception Duties And Stock Control
Anatomy And Physiology
Teamwork
Study Skills

Will I need anything else?
You will need to provide an overall, sensible full shoes, a beauty kit and a recommended text book. A camera needs to be available for photographic evidence, and a file for your portfolio. You will need to be responsible for providing your own stationery.

How long & often do I attend?
This course is offered as a one year programme and requires attendance of several sessions per week. You will be required to attend for a minimum of 90% of the course.

How will I be assessed?
For each unit you will need to type an assignment/complete a workpack and complete an end of unit test. For all practical units you will be assessed in a realistic working environment. Evidence in the form of treatment plans and photographs will need to be presented in a portfolio of evidence. You may also be required to attend on the day of the external verifier's visit.

What opportunities will this lead to?
On completion of this course you may wish to apply for Level 2 Certificate in Holistic Therapies, or you may wish to take up employment in beauty salons or health spas.
