Course content
The course relates to National Occpuational Standards and provides specialist work-related qualifications within the Hospitality sector. The National Diploma has 18 units and the Certificate has 12 units including:

• Health, Safety and Security in the Hospitality Industry
• Hospitality Business Operations
• Team Leadership and Supervision

• Kitchen Organisation and Food Safety
• Food Service Organisation

• Personal Selling and Promotional Skills

• Planning and Managing a Hospitality Event
• Current Issues in Hospitality

• Welsh Baccalaureate â€" Year 1 and 2 [120 UCAS points]
• BTEC Works Skills Certificate â€" Year 1

Assessment
As a coursework based qualification, the BTEC National Diploma is assessed by means of assessment activities, tasks and/or assignments. There are no exams for the BTEC qualification, however students have to meet specific deadlines which are set by the lecturing team
