The Postgraduate Centre at George Street is a dedicated teaching and study facility designed to develop management skills for the hospitality industry. Our postgraduate degrees are awarded by the University of Birmingham and have a strong industry and commercial focus on contemporary issues facing managers in the field of hospitality.

The teaching team on the programme have a wealth of industry experience to draw from. Regular involvement with industry as well as academic research keeps them up to date with current issues. Many of the team also teach in different countries around the world where we deliver the block programme which provides them with a global perspective of the industry.

Assessment
A wide range of assessments are used to assess the skills you will develop including group work, presentations, online debates, report writing, industry research projects, seminars and just one exam.

Overseas residential study visit
Part of your programme of study includes a 5 day study trip to carry out research for your assessment. Recently we have been to Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Florence, Barcelona, Krakow and Rome. As well as your research we organise plenty of excursions and sight seeing tours and visits to industry relevant places. A two day bonding trip, usually to a UK destination features early on in the programme. The cost of both these trips is included in your tuition fees.

These programmes can also be studied part-time.
